A.A. Wells Resilience Scholarship

Restorative Growth is committed to empowering resilient students who have faced adversity while in pursuit of their education. We are proud to announce the A.A. Wells Resilience Scholarship Award. This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving graduating high school senior and or GED student of the Unity Center non-profit organization. We understand that resilience is a key factor in success, and our scholarship is designed to reward a student who have demonstrated this trait.
Please note that our scholarship program is not available to individuals who are currently receiving funding from Washington State Department of Social Health Services.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior and or GED student, between the ages of 17 to 21 at the time of the opening of form January 15th 2024.
2. Applicant must demonstrate a desire for personal growth, academic achievement, and a commitment to making positive contributions to their community.
3. Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time or part-time student in an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical program.
Application Process:
1. Eligible candidates must complete the online application form on the Restorative Growth, A.A. Wells Resilience Scholarship tab (Application form will open on January 15th).
2. Along with the application form, candidates must submit a personal statement (500-800 words) explaining their story, how they have persevered and how they have worked towards overcoming challenges and creating positive change in their lives.
3. Applicants are also required to include at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, counselor and or professional.
4. The scholarship committee will review all applications and select one recipient based on their personal story, academic potential, and recommendation.
Scholarship Timeline:
1. Application Period: January 15, 2024 - February 15, 2024
2. Review and Selection Process: February 16, 2024 - March 10th, 2024
3. Announcement of Recipient: March 14, 2024
4. Voluntary ceremony celebration will be held March 16-17, 2024

Award Disbursement:
The $1000 scholarship will be disbursed directly to the recipient's chosen college, university, vocational, or technical institution to be applied to their tuition expenses.
